Undercover “KITCHEN SQUAD” Has Done It Again”
The third of the kitchen renovations enthusiasts’ saga known as The IKEA Kitchen Squad returns again!
The IKEA Kitchen Squad is returning to the nation’s TV screens for its most explosive mission yet. This time an unsuspecting Colleen McCann, an art teacher from Kent, will come home to find her tired, old, run down and impractical kitchen missing, having been replaced with a brand spanking new IKEA kitchen by the crack team of undercover interior experts. The advert, which can first be seen on Tuesday 20th April on Channel 4 during Heston’s Feast at 21.00, sees the IKEA Kitchen Squad facing their next challenge.
The undercover group of designers, planners, service experts and installers, was recently seen transforming the lives of a tearful Monica McIntosh and Kathie Stonebridge by creating breathtaking kitchens tailored to their needs and family requirements. Now they want to do the same for Colleen whose dingy kitchen with doors hanging off and an overheating oven is just too small for the family to sit around in together and enjoy an evening meal.
As well as transforming kitchens as part of this innovative series of TV commercials, the IKEA Kitchen Squad share their kitchen tips on IKEA.co.uk/thekitchen. The website is packed with inspiration and gives visitors lots of design ideas and kitchen planning tips to help them create a kitchen that suits their individual lifestyles.
The filming of this mission was conducted in ‘guerrilla style’ with a series of hidden cameras placed around unsuspecting participants houses. The cameras will be seen capturing the range of Colleen’s emotions as she goes from finding her kitchen has disappeared to the emotional finale when she receives the beautiful kitchen of her dreams. Returning to the screen will be the surreal host / filmmaker Leonard Sheppard, played by comedian Sanderson Jones, who has developed a cult following since the first ad aired.

The IKEA Kitchen Squad is made up of real life IKEA co-workers and installation partners who took part in an internal audition process to find the ‘best of the best’ in kitchens and were chosen for their expertise in this field. Leading the squad and the voice at the end of the yellow phone is services expert Johanne, the man at her side is in-house designer and interior trends guru Mikael, next up is Emily, the kitchen expert with an eye for detail and making the magic happen are Head kitchen fitter Damian and kitchen fitter Joe – the ‘fastest fitter in the North’.

The Kitchen Squad is a great show. I just always feel a bit sad to watch it because my kitchen will never come close to those new madeover kitchens!
But it really does show you what is possible if you have a strong will to improve your kitchen and home.
